I have been writing about video games over the course of the past ten years. It started with a gaming forum known as Gaming Freaks - a small, ugly experiment that flopped in less than twelve months. While it was sufficient for a start, I decided to move on to bigger and better things. Game Freaks 365 was born.
A lot has taken place in the industry (and the world) since 2003. It's hard to believe that it has been nearly nine years already. When the website was founded I was only fourteen years old and in middle school. Most of the people in the industry that I came into contact with had no idea that I was a minor. Looking back, that certainly did not hurt in procuring M-rated review copies.

Hoping to buy something in the PlayStation Store? Better do it tonight. Sony's online gaming network will be down for maintenance from 9AM on Thursday to 3AM on Friday. The PS Store, Customer Account Management and Registration services will be offline during this time. However, this will not affect online gaming (according to Joystix). Game on!

Capcom has just released a new gameplay trailer for Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City which takes a closer look at each of the members of the US Government Spec Ops squad and Umbrella Security Service and their specific skill sets. Konami today announced that Puddle, a winner in the 2010 GDC Independent Games Festival Student Showcase Division, is now available on PlayStation Network. A brilliantly designed physics-based puzzle platform game, Puddle initially began as a project from six students from the French videogame school ENJMIN, and was ultimately picked up and developed by Neko Entertainment. Fans of the Resistance franchise will undoubtedly be disappointed by this piece of news. Insomniac's CEO Ted Price told VG247 that the company behind the famed PS3 shooter is done with the franchise. "We won't be making any more Resistances," he said. Personally, it seems like the right move. The series has run its course. Too many developers don't know when to call it quits.

It has only been a couple months since Super Mario 3D Land shipped for the 3DS and Nintendo is already talking about a new 2D Mario game for the system. Details are in short supply, but the company is aiming for a release during the next fiscal year, which runs from April 1, 2012 to March 31, 2013. My bets would be on a fall release just in time for the holiday season....
