Future Wii Games to Play Themselves

Posted by Kyle on Sunday, June 14th

Nintendo's strategy of wooing casual and non-gamers to purchase a Wii will soon include game help to the point where the game will do the work for you. "Beginning with the upcoming New Super Mario Bros. Wii (due this holiday season), players will be able to pause a game during a particularly difficult level and let the game take over to complete the level. Press a button at any time to resume playing," USA Today reports.

USA Today was lucky enough to sit down with legendary designer Shigeru Miyamoto for an interview that included the mention of what Nintendo is calling "demo play". "In New Super Mario Bros. Wii, if a player is experiencing an area of difficulty, this will allow them to clear troubled areas and take over when they're ready" confirmed Miyamoto. "And yes, we're looking into this for future games, too."
